This portable ramp is a lifesaver for maneuvering a wheelchair up and down a couple of steps. Not too heavy to move from one place to another
I was surprised at how well this supported my weight. I had to go up three steps to get from the garage to the house and recently Ive had to use a walker because of surgery. This ramp did the trick. My wife was able to push me up the ramp and the grips on the surface, do not allow for any slippage whatsoever. It also is very easy to fold up and tuck away when not needed. And, since I did not like being stuck in the house and not being able to get into the garage, I coupled it with a block and tackle attached to a stud in the closet that allowed me to get in and out of the garage on my own. See the photo.
My husband and I have back and hip issues. I bought a cart to move groceries, cases of water, etc. from car to house. Then I realized if I had a ramp, I could wheel groceries all the way into the kitchen. This was perfect. Because of our entry set up, I had to add a 2x4 to extend the threshold out a bit. Now the screen door opens out without hitting the ramp. I also put a 2x4 underneath spanning the middle.?
Got this for my husband's electric wheelchair. This is fabulous! I can fold it up and put in the trunk if my car and take it with us whenever we go. Not everyone is equipped to handle a wheelchair nor is expected. I am 63 and I can pick it up and put it in my card trunk. Heavy? Yes but I'm not out to pasture quite yet!!! Wonderful product.
